Konavle

Konavle is Croatia's southernmost region, shaped by the hills bordering with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the north/north-east, and by the steep cliffs, coves and capes extending from Prevlaka and Molunat in the far south to Cavtat, its center.

The area is renowned for its characteristic and original stone architecture and, above all, for its rich cultural tradition in handicrafts. The pros-perity of this fertile farming area, a bountiful oasis of progress, was highly enhanced by its centuries long association with the Dubrovnik Republic.

cavtat

Cavtat

Cavtat is the ancient Epidaurum of the Adriatic; Civitas Vetus, the predecessor of Dubrovnik, a Medieaval town built according to zoning plans on the slopes of a peninsula with two easily accessible bays.
For centuries, its construction was based on the Dubrovnik principles of harmony.

Each historical period is marked by the valu-able works of some master. The cultural and historical story of its unique natural beauties can be retold unin-terruptedly. In direct proximity to Dubrovnik, enveloped in a mild Mediterranean climate and in exuberant vege-tation, Cavtat developed into the cultural and tourist destination of Konavle, blooming (cavti) in its tame beauty.

Within the vicinity of Dubrovnik, and in a Mediterranean climate with exuberant vegetation, Cavtat developed into the cultural, social and tourist centre of Konavle, flourishing on its natural beauty.

cilipi

Cilipi

Čilipi - the settlement is situated 22 km (14 miles) away from Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik airport has been built in its vicinity. The settlement is also known for the folk dancing performances often held in front of the village church.
In the Konavle House there is a permanent exhibition of the local national costumes and other ethnographic material.

molunat

Molunat

Molunat is a southern Dalmatian tourist destination close to the old town of Cavtat and is also Croatia's southernmost tourist destination.
The surrounding area is very fertile and suitable for Mediterranean plants, therefore it has been inhabited since ancient times.

Molunat, a place consisting of private houses with rooms and apartments, placed on a part of the coastline known for its splendid beaches and rich vegetation, is ideal for a quiet holiday. Molunat's beaches are sandy and great for families with small children. Divers, sports fishermen, sailing enthusiasts and surfers will be thrilled with the beauty of the archipelago and its under waters. If you are looking for night life, Cavtat and Dubrovnik are not far away.
How to get there: 15 km south to Cavtat on the road that branches off of the main road (Jadranska magistrala) at the Čilipi airport.
